Motivation

Regardless of the topic, motivation is driven by the desire to succeed. Everything you do has some kind of reward resulting from the achievement of your thoughtful action, is a success. The satisfaction and pleasure gained from your successes drives you to achieve. Phil Whitebloom explains that in decades of sales management experience, the most successful salespeople are those who have experienced the rewards due to their achievements. They have received large commissions and bonus payments, and they have gone on company award trips. They are highly motivated in every measurement period to exceed their sales quotas and targets. They are motivated because of positive experiences.
Phil goes onto explain that there is motivation that results from fear. If one continues to underperform and doesn’t achieve the sales objectives, their job will be at risk. All the bad things that come along with losing a desired job will ensue. Not all motivational reasons are equal.
When people go to bed worried, they wake up worried. Are they truly motivated or do they simply feel they have to be successful today. When people want to be successful, and can visualize what it means to be successful, they are highly motivated. They go to bed looking forward to tomorrow and wake up excited for the day. Visualization

Vision yourself in the moment of achieving your goal, your dream! How do you feel? It is not unusual for seconds after feeling delight, doubt and dismay follow. You wonder, how will I ever really get there? That doubt is bolstered by those who will tell you that there is no way you can achieve that. You must be more realistic. You will only be disappointed. Pretty depressing, right?
Close your eyes, take a breath, mentally walk away from those who are feeding negativity, and once again envision yourself at the top. Grab something to write with and write down everything you can think of that you need to do and to accomplish your goals and reach that dream. Next to each of those items, write down what needs to be done to achieve that line item and who can help you to get there. There is a great book “WHO NOT HOW” by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy. Phil highly recommends it.
As you move through the list and are checking off each item, you see yourself getting closer to achieving your dream. You are successfully meeting and exceeding each individual goal along the path to reaching that dream. When you hit speedbumps along the way, envision overcoming them, and execute the same methodologies you are already using. Surround yourself with individuals that are encouraging you and helping you. The nay sayers will disappear as they witness your attitude and successes. Go to bed remembering what you achieved today and envisioning what you are going to achieve tomorrow. Visualization is a powerful tool. Use it in a positive way.
