Is the Holiday Season Your Biggest Opportunity of the Year? |
How top sales pros turn year-end chaos into recurring revenue and fresh opportunities. By Phil Whitebloom, Founder of BeenThere Consulting Service |

Every business and every salesperson share one goal: finish the year strong and start the next one even stronger. The 80/20 rule still applies. Eighty percent of your revenue comes from twenty percent of your customers. Right now, is the time to reach out to your existing customers, clients, and patients and check in with them. Ask how you can help them finish this year strong and start next year even stronger. They’ll appreciate the call, they’ll welcome the conversation, and many will invite you to sit down and discuss the specifics. Focus first on your top twenty percent. It doesn’t mean you ignore the rest, it means you start where the biggest impact lives. Once you’ve identified your top twenty percent, the real opportunity begins. |

Why Now Is the Perfect Time to Reach Out Many people see November and December as the months when business slows down. Smart sales professionals see it as the window of opportunity. This is when decision-makers feel the pressure to hit their numbers, spend remaining budgets, and plan for next year. They’re motivated, they’re thinking strategically, and they’re open to ideas that help them move forward. Start your conversations by asking simple, outcome-based questions: · “What are your priorities before the end of the year?” · “Are there any goals you still need to reach this quarter?” · “How can I help you finish strong and get a head start on next year?” Each question opens the door to opportunity, retention, expansion, referrals, and sometimes entirely new revenue streams. And when in doubt about how to start the conversation, keep it simple. |

💡BeenThere Sales Tip of the Week |

Call your customers and clients and ask: “What can I do to help make your year-end a great one?” This one question positions you as a partner in their success, not just a vendor chasing a sale. It creates trust, urgency, and connection. The foundation of long-term relationships and recurring business. |
Plan, Act, and Win the Year-End Game As of November 1, there are only about 37 real B2B selling days left between now and the end of the year. That’s roughly seven weeks to make a measurable difference, not just in your numbers but in your relationships. While others slow down, winners speed up. Take a moment right now to look at your top clients and ask yourself: · Who can I help finish strong? · Who needs to spend unused budget or clear inventory? · Who could use my help planning for next year’s success? The answers to those questions are your roadmap for the rest of the year. |
