Meet Caroline: The 12-Year-Old Who Turned a Problem into a Product |

A young entrepreneur’s lesson in value, creativity, and action. By Phil Whitebloom, Founder of BeenThere Consulting Service |

A Simple Moment That Became a Lesson At a local holiday fair, I noticed kids walking around carrying these dragon figures. When I saw the table they were coming from, I walked up and asked the girl behind the table about them, and it was somebody I actually knew – her name is Caroline, a twelve-year-old who was there with her mom and dad, and her friend Bela (yes, there is just one L in her name). When I asked her what makes these dragons special, she said they look cool and they move, and kids like to fidget. In her words, you can fidget with them all day long. She added that kids like cool stuff and these are fun. |

💡BeenThere Sales Tip of the Week |
When an opportunity presents itself, take action. Do not let that opportunity become somebody else’s success. |
A Young Creator with a Clear Direction Caroline created a name for her business, and she calls it Cat Paw Prints. Now how cool is that. This is another lesson in why you never make assumptions. One might assume that Caroline would take this money and go buy something she wants for herself, but no, she is reinvesting it back into the business. Is this not an entrepreneur in the making? Only time will tell. What could we learn from Caroline? Here are the takeaways. |
🔎 Takeaway 1: Identify Real Need and Act Caroline wanted something she could not afford. Instead of stopping there, she recognized that the same interest she had might exist for other kids. Sometimes as we gain more experience as professionals, we also become more cautious. Caroline reminds us that progress often comes from taking a simple leap of faith, the same way we once did when we were new and unafraid to try. ❓ Takeaway 2: Ask for the “Who” You Need to Move Forward She asked her dad for the one resource that made her idea possible. She did not overthink it. She did not wait. She found her who. In business, progress almost always accelerates when we find the who instead of trying to be the how. I loved the enthusiasm Caroline and Bela brought to what they were doing. It was unapologetic, focused, and supported by a clear mission. How cool is that. 🔃 Takeaway 3: Reinvest in the Work That Creates Future Opportunity Caroline puts her earnings back into her business so she can do more. True professionals understand this and practice it by continually strengthening the things that support their goals. 💹 Takeaway 4: Action Builds Momentum Caroline did not have years of training or expertise. She took action, and that one decision started everything that followed. There are many stories of highly successful people who took a leap of faith that turned out to be a great decision. |

Why Work with Me (Phil Whitebloom) Caroline’s story is a reminder we all need. Opportunity is everywhere, yet it only becomes real when someone takes action. She saw something that interested her, found a way to make it happen, and turned it into something kids wanted. That is the exact mindset that separates stagnant businesses from growing ones. And this is the work I do every day with my clients. Because in business, the fastest way to grow revenue is not complicated. It is recognizing the opportunities that are already in front of you and acting on them with clarity and precision. That is execution. That is momentum. And that is where many businesses leave revenue sitting untouched. For more than forty years, I have helped sales teams and business leaders strengthen the key moments that determine revenue. Not basic techniques. High level execution that produces immediate, measurable results. If your business depends on walk ins, call ins, referrals, inbound leads, appointments, or returning customers, these lessons apply directly to you. Here is what businesses get when they work with me: ✅ Clear visibility to the opportunities that already exist inside their sales process ✅ Stronger execution in every selling moment ✅ More customers from the traffic they already have ✅ High impact questions that reveal intent and accelerate decisions ✅ A sales structure their team can use right away ✅ Coaching that creates momentum and keeps it moving This is not theory. This is tactical coaching that improves performance now. If your business has opportunities that are being missed or delayed, let us talk. If you want more prospects to become customers, more customers returning, and more clarity in your sales process, I can help you get there. |
